Besides being a writer and musician , I have earned much of my living as an adult as an international economist and management consultant working on effectiveness and efficiency for projects and organisations. I have been a globe-trotter for most of my adult life and have lived and worked in many countries on all the continents of this world. I have an abiding interest in paradigms and systems that work positively for people, networks and communities. My professional experience covers Africa ( West, East, Southern and North ), the Middle East, the Caribbean and Latin America, Eastern Europe and Asia.
My work as an economist and management consultant has covered the establishment of informed, evidence-based policy-making systems, institutional capacity building as well as the defining of the competitive strengths and weaknesses of local and national economies and the opportunities for international trade.
At the private sector level, this has entailed expertise in the analysis of practical export strategic marketing and business development planning for exporting SMEs and at the public sector level this expertise covers related issues such as trade policy, market access issues as well as the attendant legislative frameworks. In addition, I have been involved across many countries and regions of the world on projects and programmes entailing results–oriented work, coaching, training and institutional capacity building .
I have also worked extensively in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of economic development projects in the Creative and Cultural Industries ( CCI) covering, Film, Music, Literature and Performing Arts, ,Costume and Fashion Design, Cultural, Sporting, Graphic Arts including Architecture and allied fields such as Informatics, Media, Technology, Communications, Educational Services , Heritage industries ( the Arts and Crafts, Festivals, Cultural sites such as Archaelogical sites, Museums, Libraries, Exhibitions).
